On Wednesday, January 15, at 2:00 p.m., a public hearing will be held at the Anchieta Palace in Vitória to update the people of Espírito Santo on the progress of the railways that will connect the North of Espírito Santo to the states of Minas Gerais, Goiás and the Federal District. The event will take place in the Salão Santiago and will be an opportunity to learn the details of the railway infrastructure project that promises to transform the logistics and economic development of the region.

During the hearing, the Petrocity Group will present the progress of the railway authorization contracts, the execution schedule and the expected deadlines for completion of the works. The State Government will also provide information on the initiatives implemented to promote socioeconomic development in the areas impacted by the construction of the railways.

The railway network project, which covers 2,160 kilometers, is divided into four railways with authorized contracts. Two of these railways have already received a Declaration of Public Utility (DUP), allowing the expropriation of the areas necessary for the execution of the work. The railways that are part of the Petrocity project are called the Central-East Corridor, according to the new guidelines of the Brazilian railway framework, and will be integrated into the North-South Railway, through the connection in Mara Rosa (GO).

In addition, the Petrocity Group will provide information on the progress of the Private Use Terminal (TUP) in Urussuquara, in the municipality of São Mateus, a strategic infrastructure for the flow of products by rail.

The hearing will be attended by several authorities, including Governor Renato Casagrande, Vice-Governor Ricardo Ferraço, Senator Zequinha Marinho, president of the Joint Parliamentary Front for Authorized Railways (Fren-Fer) in the National Congress, and Mayors Enivaldo dos Anjos of Barra de São Francisco and Marcus Azevedo Batista of São Mateus. The presence of the President of the Petrocity Group, José Roberto Barbosa da Silva, as well as representatives of the Ministries of Transport and Ports, DNIT, ANTT and the railway sector has also been confirmed.

With this initiative, the State Government reinforces its commitment to improving infrastructure and developing Espírito Santo, promoting a transparent dialogue with society about one of the largest logistics projects in the country.
